Granite Creek Vineyards, Arizona – Kit and Robin Hoult

March 28, 2012

We are a small, family run business that is very committed to sustainable viticulture and environmental stewardship.

Granite Creek Vineyards is located at 4,600 feet in the town of Chino Valley, AZ.  We moved to Chino Valley in 1974 filled with the determination and desire to start a fruit farm. We began planting vines in 1975 and have been producing grapes ever since.  With a steadfast commitment to sustainable agriculture, Granite Creek Vineyards became the first Certified Organic farm in Arizona in 1989, and in 2004 we opened our doors to the public.

For us, winemaking is very much a creative process, combined with hard work and some climatic luck. In Chino Valley, warm days and cool nights, combined with marvelously pure well water and soil with granitic complexity, produce fruit with very unique terroir.  Our wines lean towards strong up front fruit flavors, with spicy finishes.  We strive to produce world-class wines that are Certified Organic with no added sulfites to let the wine speak for itself.  My wife and I have been farming this land since 1974, we love what we do, and we love this vineyard—it’s our life!
