Domaine Achard-Vincent, France – Jean-Pierre and Thomas Achard

“Le Domaine Achard-Vincent fait partie des pionniers de l’agriculture biologique car, dés 1971, le grand-père débuta la bio selon la méthode Lemaire-Bouchet.  Il fallut ensuite entendre l’arrivée de Jean-Pierre pour suivre le cahier des charges des vins bio de Nature et Progrès de 1982 à 2009. Thomas suit maintenant un mode de production biodynamiqe certifié Demeter depuis 2008.”

Our vineyard/winery is located in the South East of France, between Vercors and Provence.

The domaine has been certified as both organic (since 1982) and biodynamic (since 2007).

The base of “l’agriculture biologique” is the organic manure: To nourish the ground as well as possible by taking of account the billion micro-organisms living in the ground.

For that, we bring composted organic matter, and green manures.

The only pesticides which we use are copper salts and sulphur.

The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand at the end of September and the beginning of October.
