Schlossweingut Stachlburg, Italy – Baron Sigmund Kripp

April 22, 2012

Our family has owned the Stachlburg since 1945.  I inherited the castle with orchards and vineyards in 1990 and took the chance to grow organic wine.

We are a family-lead farm with three employees working on 18 hectares. Whether wine or fruit, our goal is to create healthy, nutritious and sustainable agricultural products. We want to leave our children an intact natural environment along with the understanding that organic farming is an intense and hard job, that the results are not sure and often hurt by weather calamities like frost and hail damage, but, that over the long term, organic agriculture is worth the effort because it is the single way to protect the world from collapse.
