Ronco del Gnemiz, Italy – Serena Palazzolo

April 26, 2012

Why do you do what you do? By a lucky chance. I was a student of psychology and my father asked me to return home to manage Ronco del Gnemiz. It was a big opportunity and a chance to go back to a natural life. The estate is managed organically and with as much common sense as possible. Our way of working is just the way you would treat yourself, respecting the vineyards and the wines as you respect your mind and your body in order to feel healthy and peaceful.

Are you happy with this work? Very much, it’s my life, the place where my children have grown; it’s just part of me.

Is it worth the effort?  I don’t know. If you mean personally it is indeed, if you mean economically it is not

This is not a job; this is a way of living.  You cannot “work” the earth; you can just cooperate with her – a friendly joint venture.
